Oh my, the 18th May was my last post…??!? Time really does fly when you’re mentally drained and crazily busy, I can’t count the number of times I’ve thought ‘oh, I really must post about that’ and then clearly done absolutely nothing about it!
However this does mean that I have a lot of things to post about now. It’s going to be a little while longer till I’m back to where I’d like to be i.e. more than once a month! But I’ll get there. The problem recently you see, other than laziness, has been trying to purchase my very first home (wooohoooo) with Mr B, an undertaking which we entered into rather naively – thinking it would be easy – and are now both waiting for our heads to explode. I keep remarking to Mr B that, rather than teaching us about Harald Hardrada (who, incidentally, he had no recollection of) and the events of 1066, it would perhaps be of more use to be taught about useful things like how to budget your money or what bills you will have to pay on your average house or how on earth you manage to understand/do everything involved in a house purchase?!?!
I appreciate that thousands of people buy houses without losing hair and our purchase has been reasonably straightforward but being such novices we have NO idea what we are doing. What on earth is a chancel? How important is a DPC (damp proof course)…very it turns out! Will I be homeless in 10 days time?
Why, oh why can’t we keep renting? Scratch that, I CANNOT wait to own our first house…it may even be our only house as I really don’t think I want to go through the added complication of selling whilst buying…
So, soon as the house is bought (next week hopefully, though Mr B thinks we can sleep in our car…?!) I will be returning to normality. I will have food in my cupboards, I will be able to set up the most beautiful craft corner (the Xbox prevents me having an entire room), I will create some lovely sewing creations, I will cook to my hearts content, I will paint and wallpaper and sand and prettify my beautiful home to my hearts content…and it will be a home
So even with all the stress and paperwork I can’t wait for that moment that I get the keys, I feel all jittery just thinking about it! Woooooooo.
Watch this space for about a billion posts on my most recent crafting and cooking and all the decorating of our gorgeous new house – many pictures to follow!
