Isle of Wight Festival 2011 – finally!

I have only just located my camera cable – tooooooo many boxes!

So we (Mr B and I with my brother and his girlfriend) went to the Isle of Wight Festival this year…seemingly forever and ever ago, before the house purchase and before my ever lasting cough! I had an absolutely amazing time even though it rained like we were going to need an ark on Sunday – we were lame and scarpered home – the music was fantastic with Pulp and Kings of Leon being my DEFINITE favourites – Seasick Steve was pretty damn good too! We also saw a London band – Stereo Son – who were not bad, might even go see them sometime again!

The terrible photos taken whilst we were drunk/tired/wet/desperate for the toilet…

The Q day pictures…well the Ewing wedding

So Saturday was a little bit of a crazy day, started drinking at about 5 and didn’t stop till past 1 in the morning – I am WAY too old for this malarkey! I still feel hungover now but it was worth – had such a good time. Just wish I was the one going on honeymoon today (not jealous in the slightest of course ;) – just need a holiday!!).

A few pictures of the lovely day…

Q day today! My second quilt unveiled…

So today is finally Q day for me, W day for a couple of mine and Mr B’s lovely friends but Q day for me! I finally get to give them the quilt that I made AGES ago and I can post some pictures of it!

I used a jelly roll of Moda Hullabaloo by Urban Chiks supplemented with some of my own vintage fabric -  the curtain I had on my bed when I was little (a lovely stripey lilac Laura Ashley print), a stripey grey and red cotton from my Granma and some yellow striped seersucker cotton that I tried (and failed) to make a nightdress out of when I was about 15…but that’s what happens when you don’t use patterns and have no idea what you are doing! …wait, that’s what I still do! ;)

Anyways, hopefully they will love it and get a lot of use and enjoyment out of it, maybe put it on their first baby’s crib! :) A long way in the future obviously!

So without further ado, a few pictures of the quilt, my attempts at embroidery and my little denim label :)

Moving seemed so easy! How to move from Blogger to WordPress

Wow! If only moving house had been that simple! The clever little beings in the back of WordPress, running around, ferrying my content around have just moved nearly a years worth of posts in minutes! The jury is still out on whether I can get on with WordPress any better than I could with Blogger but at the moment I am happy :)

I will also be posting more often…well, at all! ;)

If you want to know how to move your blog from Blogger to WordPress then visit this link – Importing content to WordPress from Blogger.

Oh my, has it been a busy few days!

We’re in! Despite this being (apparently) a relatively quick sale it seems like forever since we first walked into our little house in the wrong part of town and decided we HAD to have it. Only 8 weeks later we have now moved around 50 billion boxes and way more furniture than we remember having and I’ve cleaned till all my fingernails broke! There was much help from our respective parents but Mr B and I may take a little while to recover from the stress! So now our days are filled with discussing where the CD’s should go (a primary concern of Mr B) and which way round our bed should go (it’s the wrong way!!!). But I am LOVING it, I’ve got the gorgeous period cottage that I have wanted since I was about 3 years old…well maybe that’s a slight exaggeration! I’ve got a bay window…and fireplaces in every room…and red brick walls wound my garden, it’s so pretty :) And we’re going to spend FOREVER making it even prettier!

Betty seemed to be settling in, she’s still eating and pooing which is always a good sign! Though I keep finding a cat on top of her hutch or run so think she might take a while to get used to that daily trauma! Once we’re all settled in, we’re going to be finding her a Bertie (how cute would that be?!?) to keep her company when we’re not there as I hate seeing her cute little face looking all lonely when I go off to work :(

Even the little annoyances, like our Polish neighbours horrific taste in 90′s club music or the man who hocks up half his lungs every morning (urgh!!!) really don’t bother me because… it’s OUR house!!!

Soon as we’re up and running (and I’ve found my camera) I’ll be posting copious photos and stories about our struggles!
